Holy epic, Batman. Sent to BSS from a fan who wanted to speak out in response to the G20 summit that was held recently here in Toronto, this video is screaming to be shared.

Robyn

Words can’t express how obsessed I am with Robyn. Yes, she’s still around from her “Show Me Love” days and rocking dance floors left right and center. This year she’s slated to realease three full albums – THREE in ONE year! That’s a whole lotta writing and a w hole lotta pressure. She’s definitely delivered on her first single, Dancing On My Own. It’s a heart broken dance beat that makes you want to tear while shimmying. How’s that for a new dance move?

M.I.A.

This is the most disturbing music video I've ever seen, bar none. I wasnt fully prepared as I sat quietly at my desk this Monday morning for what my eyes were about to see. My morning coffee-internet-surf has never made me feel so ill. Maya is always one for making a statement and to speak up against war, and this certainly does both of those things by exposing how stupid prejudice can be and by reminding us how violent war actually is. Can you stomach it? MIA

Jay Malinowski

Jay ventured to Iceland to capture the beauty of this song and everything about it is chilling. I mean, the song still gives me the shivers, even though I've heard it a million times. Maybe its because you really feel like he's left his heart out on the table in this one... and that, my friends, is one of the things I admire about musicians - the capability to grasp exactly what they are feeling and to craft it into poetry and melody. I think its safe to say that feeling vulnerable is something that nobody is comfortable with, and to me, sharing that in a form that lets people truly connect with that rawness is something that turns up a few more smiles in this world.

"History please let me go, let me be, leave me alone..."

Jonsi

Dear Ears,

I don’t know how to fully prep you for the beauty that is about to happen. I mean there is love, then there is great love. This could be one of those moments. My only advice is to put in your earphones immediately and let this song consume you.

Yours Truly,
Sound Check

Lady Gaga & Beyonce

Over 700K views since the video premiere at midnight. If you weren't one of them, get on it because this has been the most anticipated video in a long while.

Jonas Akerlund directed (you'll remember him from her Paparazzi vid) even thoough parts were inspired by Quentin Tarantino (their car is actually straight from Kill Bill) As if you need more reasons to watch, well if you do for one, you're crazy... but Gaga goes nude, theres swearing and I bet these two phrases are going to become way more popular than the Bad Romance dance:
'Once you kill a cow, you gotta make a burger'
'Trust is like a mirror, you can fix it if its broke but you can still see the crack in that mother f**cker's reflection'

My last little diddy is that Beyonce doesn't look nearly as cool in those glasses as Gaga does and oh product placement. That's all I have to say about that.

Get to it:

Its funny to compare Beyonce & Gaga's styles - I mean Telephone is Gaga ft Beyonce and the Videophone video was Beyonce Ft Gaga. Thoughts?

OK Go

They did it again. Seriously, they actually did the video for 'This Too Shall Pass', again. Its like the new wave of a remix - same song different visuals. How d'ya like dem apples?

OK Go did that game with the thing, then made it into a...you get it.

Tegan & Sara

The girls bring some choreographed dance moves to this video for Alligator. Definitely a catchy song, but I cant help while watching the video but think as to how un-environmentally friendly it is. Common, its an igloo built out of plastic garbage bags….Ah..what's that? something shiny? Yup, I think the multi-colored sparkle snow made me get over that one prett-ay. quick-lay.

MIA

I wanted some more bucky dun gun MIA in my life and I was super excited to see that she has a new album due this summer. Get this, one of the songs to look forward to is called "I'm Down Like Your Internet Connection" and she actually recorded it with a group of Filipino Verizon workers via the phone."I was having issues with my cable and wireless, and I was on the phone [with tech support] for three hours, and I thought, 'Maybe this needs to be part of my music, could you just learn these lyrics and sing it down the phone to me?' 10 phone calls later, I have Internet that sticks and a song." (Via Pitchfork) You never know whats up her sleeve. Cant wait for some fresh summer tunes.

In the mean time, here is Rihanna's latest, Rude Boy, with a very inspired MIA video. Ch-ch-check it:

Yeah Yeah Yeahs

They slowed it down this time around and released Skeleton, one of my favorite songs from Its Blitz, as their latest single...If you were looking for a slow, synth infused jam to warm you on cold nights well, I can't say this is the video because its equally eerie as it is beautiful - shiver me timbers. Its directed by Karen O's boyfriend, Barnley Clay, who, I feel, captured the essence of the song which was written in the middle of a snow storm, by making the video feel, as Karen put it "very wintery"

Vampire Weekend

Vampires all the rage these days. So somewhere in between R Pattz and Buffy, there spawned Vampire Weekend who just keep feeding us pieces of their new album, Contra, that is out this January. Their latest video for Cousins dropped this week. It somewhat reminds me of the OK Go vid for Here We Go Again - maybe just because its crazy moving and that I'm slightly crazy...no one else with me? That's fine. I'll go sit in a corner and watch the video, alone. No big whoop.

Ting Tings

Ok so remember when Adidas reinvented themselves this year, with the most amazing Skins-esque House Party spot that brought Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons back into the spotlight? That party is still the envy of my weekend and chalk full of celebrity cameos from Missy Elliot to David Beckham. Well, as part of this whole campaign they also hosted a Ting Tings paint party. Meaning, the Ting Tings played for a group of 350, all with Adidas outfits, added some paint and saw what happened. I remember reading about it and watching the recap vid they posted to their blog, just drooling over how killer it would have been to be there. Well, now you can watch more evidence, because they just released the video for "Great DJ", which is a docu of the party.

Lady Gaga

My guilty pleasure.. and she doesn't help the cause because she just keeps bringing it. Such a catchy lil diddy. Roma-rah-rah-rah.

Please hold for a girly moment: eek! those Alexander McQueens!!! The models could barely even walk in those shoes...and Gaga with the contacts in, she looks like such a cute doll...oo,oo and the ensemble similar to the lobster queen get up she wore to the VMAs...and, and, and....okay - I've got that out of my system and have returned to a normal state of being.

Loving seeing an all female rock group. These French chicks are known, along with a few other Parisienne teen rockers as 'les bebes rockers'. I want to be known as that, so from now on please only refer to me as la bebe rocker. Thanks.

Below is the first single off their second album, About Love, which was released earlier this year. The single was also featured on Nylon's summer playlist. Loving how pretty the video is. (boys - not just because these girls are really cute and super cool)

the Dead Weather

I don't think I understand this, but I do know that I'm digging it. Cut Like A Buffalo is my favorite song off the Dead Weather album and is the only track that Mr. White sings solo. The video is super unpredictable and takes you for a ride, so buckle up...
