Johann Johannsson
I am loving on Iceland these days. Jonsi, J.M.’s Theres a Light (shot in Iceland) and now Johann Johannsson – an Icelandic composer, producer & musician. His most recent album was the score for the animated film, Varmints, entitled "And In the Endless Pause There Came The Sound of Bees", which is solely instrumental mixed with some electronics. Currently, it is only available in vinyl but will be available for cd purchase in April 2010. It'll be best consumed in a bubblebath, or right before bed. Check it here

We've all heard Congratulations by now. I still can't wrap my head around my opinion on it so I'm going to leave it at that for now. Bah, maybe thats because I want to like it so much, but am just not biting yet...I sure hope not. A few more run-throughs and I'll have a better idea.

Jay Malinowski
Jay ventured to Iceland to capture the beauty of this song and everything about it is chilling. I mean, the song still gives me the shivers, even though I've heard it a million times. Maybe its because you really feel like he's left his heart out on the table in this one... and that, my friends, is one of the things I admire about musicians - the capability to grasp exactly what they are feeling and to craft it into poetry and melody. I think its safe to say that feeling vulnerable is something that nobody is comfortable with, and to me, sharing that in a form that lets people truly connect with that rawness is something that turns up a few more smiles in this world.

Dear Ears,
I don’t know how to fully prep you for the beauty that is about to happen. I mean there is love, then there is great love. This could be one of those moments. My only advice is to put in your earphones immediately and let this song consume you.
Yours Truly,

Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce
So word on the street is that Britney was supposed to be the Beyonce in the video. Too bad she couldn't get her act together to pull it off. My younger self so wants Britney to be the Slave Britney again, but I guess she's too busy making her grits... How different would the song/video have been?

Hot Hot Heat
I'm knee deep in Canadian Music Week. 4 days & 14 artists down and half a liver to spare.
Saw these guys last night through some very drunken eyes at the Horseshoe and have been rocking them all day. It was a rammed, sweaty house in full gear and loving it all. What a great Canadian rock show.

Lady Gaga & Beyonce
Over 700K views since the video premiere at midnight. If you weren't one of them, get on it because this has been the most anticipated video in a long while.
Jonas Akerlund directed (you'll remember him from her Paparazzi vid) even thoough parts were inspired by Quentin Tarantino (their car is actually straight from Kill Bill) As if you need more reasons to watch, well if you do for one, you're crazy... but Gaga goes nude, theres swearing and I bet these two phrases are going to become way more popular than the Bad Romance dance:
'Once you kill a cow, you gotta make a burger'
'Trust is like a mirror, you can fix it if its broke but you can still see the crack in that mother f**cker's reflection'
My last little diddy is that Beyonce doesn't look nearly as cool in those glasses as Gaga does and oh product placement. That's all I have to say about that.
Get to it:
Its funny to compare Beyonce & Gaga's styles - I mean Telephone is Gaga ft Beyonce and the Videophone video was Beyonce Ft Gaga. Thoughts?

Ellie Goulding
As it so happens, I was looking up the embed for this girl, Ellie Goulding, that was recommended to me from a guy at work today (that I'm about to share with you because I'm in lurve) while listening to Temper Trap, Sweet Disposition....and anyhoo, I came across her covering the song @ the Live Lounge. Its like a collision of scrumptiousness all rolled into one giant pancake topped with whipped cream & strawberries with a root beer float on the side...
